Data

The Financial Services Assessment project is designed to examine the impact of financial services on the lives of poor people in developing countries. This project is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is committed to building a deep base of knowledge in the microfinance field.

The project follows a mixed methods approach with use of both qualitative and quantitative tools to gather data. As part of the quantitative analysis, data were gathered from Malawi and Kenya and are now made available for public. Datasets are derived from household-level surveys with a focus on household financial behavior. Please select from the datasets available on left side of this page for more information.
